What can we do to fight plastic waste in oceans and rivers – representative studies get started

RusekuUGT – as a middle sized company is happy to be part of the Project RUSEKU an ambitious research work with partners from German universities, governmental authorities, agencies and industrial companies.
As a medium sized company UGT will do the very best to be a valuable partner in the joint research project.
In the project be RUSEKU there the project partner carry out a representative study concerning methods and strategies for an integrative system that enables understanding of relevant environmental compartment plastic entry paths in the water.
The project “representative study strategies for an integrative system understanding of specific entries of plastics in the environment (RUSEKU)” has the target to develop until the beginning of 2021 procedures to measure the micro plastic content of the different areas of the water circuit in a better and faster way. The focus is on sampling procedures in urban sewage systems and in rivers.
How healthy will future generations find our waterways and oceans? A big challenge and an important work lies in front of us. The kickoff meeting will take place on the 9th of July at the Federal Environmental Agency,  Umweltbundesamt in Berlin.
